Legionella is a bacterium that can cause legionelosis, a lung disease caused by breathing air with aerosols containing the bacterium. Due to its transmission, installations that use water and can cause aerosols, such as cooling towers, humidifiers, heated water systems with agitation (spas, jacuzzis, whirlpool baths, etc.), hot water systems, sprinkler irrigation systems, ornamental fountains, etc., must be especially monitored.
Our laboratories have the most advanced and rapid analytical methods to meet the requirements of RD 487/2022, which establishes the health and hygiene criteria for the prevention and control of legionellosis.
The laboratories that make up the Eurofins Environment Testing Spain network are accredited by the UNE-EN ISO 17025 standard for the performance of Legionella count tests and by the UNE-EN ISO 11731/2017 standard, which establishes Royal Decree 487/2022 for official analyses. Thanks to our extensive network of laboratories, we can travel wherever it is necessary to collect samples.
