THE LEADING LABORATORY NETWORK FOR TESTING IN THE FIELD OF CONTAMINATED SOIL AND GROUNDWATER ANALYSIS

We respond to all the analytical needs of the sector

Soil is one of the most sensitive and vulnerable environments to contamination. This vulnerability is due to its role as a support for the development of life and human activities, as well as its interactions with surface water, groundwater and the atmosphere. In Spain, Royal Decree 9/2005 establishes the list of potentially soil-polluting activities and the criteria and standards for the declaration of contaminated soils.

If your organisation’s activity requires compliance with this standard, we have UNE-EN-ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for testing, which enables us to carry out analyses and provide results in compliance with the highest quality standards.

When might we need a contaminated soil survey/analysis?

Renewal of an environmental licence or authorisation
Due to a legal requirement
We have to comply with the environmental monitoring plan
For the purchase and sale of a plot of land
To solve specific problems related to a soil
On a complaint
We need to decontaminate a soil

Logistical Information and Sample Preservation Methodology

Logistics and receipt of samples:

Reception and Registration:

  • The central laboratories of EUROFINS MEDIOAMBIENTE ESPAÑA, located in Castellón, work from Monday to Saturday.
  • Reception and registration of samples from Monday to Friday.

Transport and Preservation:

  • Mensajerías colaboradoras collect and transport the samples by road to our facilities.
  • Deliveries to the laboratory before 8.00 a.m., guaranteeing the preservation of the compounds under analysis.

Sampling Material and Preservation Methods:

Material Provided:

  • Isothermal coolers and new containers for correct sampling, following quality criteria (e.g. UNE 5667-3).
  • Selection of type of packaging, preservation, preservative, temperature control, etc., to guarantee the quality of the test.

Material characteristics:

  • New, non-recycled, non-washed material.
  • Optimisation of packaging for ease of logistics and volume required for the test.
  • Sealable, airtight, resistant and easy to label containers.
  • Plasticised labels with double bar code.
  • Chemical preservative required according to the analytical test requested.
  • Instructions for the correct and safe handling of the containers.
